Bigger rolls put more strain on a filter, and paper crutches are the first thing to fold under that pressure. This filter tip is solid wood through and through, so it holds firm even when packed tightly into a heavier roll, and it can be rinsed clean and reused rather than replaced each time.

This width is meant for cones and papers built with a wide crutch pocket in mind — the kind that would swallow a smaller tip. At 19mm, it fills that space and gives the roll a proper anchor point instead of leaving it loose or unstable.
